Mashilo said the handover forms part of a long-standing tradition of providing vehicles to traditional leaders to help them carry out their duties effectively.

“Traditional leaders often travel long distances to attend community meetings, resolve disputes, participate in cultural events, and work closely with government departments on issues affecting local communities. The vehicles are, therefore, seen as important tools that assist them in serving the people better,” he said.
Mokoena emphasised that the cars will improve the visibility of traditional leaders within their respective communities.
