Rhulani Xidakeni water project launched
Community members from Rhulani Xidakeni are celebrating improved access to clean water following the official launch of a community water project.
The MEC for economic development and tourism, Jesta Sidell, together with the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality’s executive mayor, Cllr Lydia Moroane Zitha, officially opened the Rhulani Xidakeni Water Project on May 22.

The project is a public-private partnership between the Mpumalanga provincial government, Malamala Game Reserve and Innovation Africa. It was launched to address the long-standing water challenges faced by the Rhulani Xidakeni community.

“We celebrate the investment made in the community. This water project has not only created job opportunities for locals, but it has also provided fresh, drinkable water and restored dignity to residents and surrounding areas. I urge the community to protect and preserve the newly built infrastructure,” said Sidell.
