College hosts Bushbuckridge GBVF Outreach Programme

The programme aims to raise awareness about gender-based violence and femicide within college communities.

Ehlanzeni TVET College Mapulaneng Campus hosted the Bushbuckridge GBVF Outreach Programme, led by the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality together with the Mpumalanga Department of Health, on May 27.

The programme focused on raising awareness and combatting the scourge of gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) within college communities and surrounding areas.

Students were educated and engaged in meaningful discussions on the causes, effects and prevention of GBVF, while the Department of Health (DoH) also introduced Lenacapavir and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) interventions.

Stakeholders provided important health and support services to students on site. The outreach served as an important platform to empower students with knowledge, support, and access to essential services.
