Barberton Mines donates equipment to UVE

Barberton Mines boosts support for survivors with equipment donation to Umjindi Victim Empowerment unit.

As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community well-being, Barberton Mines donated two mobile air conditioners and a steel filing cabinet to the Umjindi Victim Empowerment (UVE) unit on May 21.

The non-profit organisation supports survivors of gender-based violence and crime in Barberton. It provides counselling, court preparation, home visits and emergency support services, and helps survivors access care and navigate the justice system in a safe and supportive environment.

The donations aimed at improving working conditions at the organisation’s container offices, located at the Barberton Police Station.

A filing cabinet and two mobile air conditioners donated to the Umjindi Victim Empowerment unit

The mobile air conditioners will help create a more comfortable environment, particularly during lengthy counselling and support sessions. The filing cabinet will assist with a safe storage and improve the organisation of important case files, bolstering confidentiality and improving the efficiency of daily operations.
