The Lowveld Walkers honoured the youth of 1976 with a special Youth Day walk in school uniforms.

The Lowveld Walkers commemorated Youth Day with a unique walk that saw participants trading their usual athletic gear for school uniforms. The walk took place on June 13 from the Backdoor sports field in KaBokweni. It featured four distances: 6 km, 12 km, 17 km, and a gruelling 21 km half-marathon route.

The event drew fitness enthusiasts and community members, all dressed in a vibrant array of local school uniforms to pay tribute to the historic class of 1976 who took part in the Soweto Uprising.
