Ehlanzeni TVET College takes firm stance against procurement corruption
The institution said it will blacklist any suppliers attempting to bribe officials to secure lucrative contracts.
Ehlanzeni TVET College has cautioned all current and prospective service providers against engaging in corrupt procurement practices.
In a statement, the college warned that offering money, gifts, commissions or any form of inducement to representatives to secure contracts is strictly prohibited.

Ehlanzeni TVET spokesperson Mxolisi Nzimande said the college maintains a strict zero-corruption policy and is committed to ensuring that all procurement processes are conducted with fairness, transparency, accountability and integrity.
“Service providers are appointed solely on the basis of compliance with the prescribed requirements, meeting the evaluation criteria and adherence to supply chain management policies and procedures,” said Nzimande.
Officials lack authority to solicit favours
Nzimande said no official of the college has the authority to solicit or accept payments, favours or any form of gratification in exchange for tender awards, preferential treatment or the influencing of procurement decisions.
Any individual claiming to secure contracts or influence tender outcomes in return for payment is acting unlawfully and without the authority of the college.

“Any attempt to compromise the integrity of the procurement process will be dealt with decisively and may result in disciplinary action, blacklisting, termination of contracts and criminal prosecution where applicable,” he said.
Report suspected corruption
He said service providers are encouraged to report any suspected incidents of corruption, fraud or unethical behaviour involving college officials or any other parties associated with the procurement process.
According to Nzimande the public can use national anti-corruption hotline at 0800 701 701, to report any illegal activities.
