Deputy Minister Reginah Mhaule leads school handover in Ehlanzeni
Partnering with Sanlam, the initiative aims to extend the spirit of Mandela Month by equipping local schools with essential resources.
Basic Education Deputy Minister Reginah Mhaule handed over essential educational resources at Khetsalwati Secondary School on Monday, July 27.
The initiative included the donation of school shoes, toiletries, sports equipment and a mobile mini-library to learners from various schools across the Ehlanzeni District. The department partnered with Sanlam for the initiative.

Sanlam encourages future leaders
Reaffirming its commitment to education, Sanlam described learners as South Africa’s future leaders and encouraged them to remain determined in the face of challenges. The organisation reminded learners that no obstacle is too great to overcome with perseverance, confidence and hard work, while expressing its gratitude to principals and educators for their continued dedication to shaping the country’s future.

During the handover, Mhaule emphasised that the spirit of Mandela Month should be extended beyond July through meaningful acts of service that leave a lasting impact on the lives of learners. She noted that providing children with essential resources is not simply an act of generosity, but an investment in the future and a contribution towards ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to receive quality foundational education.
