MEC Lindi Masina opens Chief Madida Early Development Centre in Mgobodzi
The new facility gives young children a safe, inspiring space to learn, play and build a strong foundation for their future.
Chief Mandinda Early Development Centre was officially opened in Mgobodzi by MEC for education Lindi Masina on Thursday, August 6, as part of the Exco outreach and Premier’s imbizo.
The handover was a demonstration of opening the doors of education for learners from Mgobodzi and surrounding areas. Every corner of the centre has been designed to give children a safe, happy and inspiring environment where they can learn, play and grow.
Chief Mandinda Early Development Centre has become a place where little imaginations will flourish, friendships will be formed and dreams will begin.

Centre to shape future leaders
The MEC emphasised that the centre will shape tomorrow’s leaders, teachers, doctors, entrepreneurs and innovators.
“By investing in early childhood development today, government is laying the strongest possible foundation for a prosperous Mpumalanga, and the joy on the faces of the children says it all,” she said.

She highlighted that parents celebrate knowing their children have access to quality early learning facilities, while practitioners can teach with renewed pride in an environment that supports excellence.
Community members have gained a lasting asset that will benefit generations.
“As children fill these classrooms with laughter, songs and learning, they remind us that every investment in a child is an investment in our collective future. The future looks brighter than ever,” said Masina.
