WORKSHOP MECHANIC (Hydraulics & Heavy Vehicle Specialist) Location: Biaton Paving, CNR R40 Rd and Plaston, White River Employment Type: Full-time About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Workshop Mechanic with extensive experience in hydraulics, forklifts, and heavy vehicles to join our transport department. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise and a proven track record of maintaining and repairing fleet vehicles, ensuring reliability and safety across operations. Key Responsibilities
•Diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and hydraulic systems (including truck-mounted cranes).
•Service and maintain Mercedes- Benz and UD trucks within the transport fleet.
•Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair air brake systems.
•Conduct routine maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety standards.
•Respond to call-outs for breakdowns and provide on-road support when required.
•Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with transport regulations.
•Maintain accurate service records and provide technical support to operations.
•Work effectively under pressure in a busy transport department. Requirements
•Minimum 10 years` proven experience as a workshop mechanic.
•Strong expertise in forklifts and hydraulic systems (truck- mounted cranes essential).
•Experience working on Mercedes-Benz and UD trucks.
•Solid knowledge of air brake systems.
•Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
•Valid driver`s license.
