We commend the justice system
We've heard the numerous cries from communities about police officers who take the law into their own hands and end up not being prosecuted, but this time around, six officials were jailed for assaulting an inmate at a police station.

We’ve heard the numerous cries from communities about police officers who take the law into their own hands and end up not being prosecuted, but this time around, six officials were jailed for assaulting an inmate at a police station.
They were sentenced to serve time in jail and others received bail options. Methinks this is a good move by our justice system to, this time around, have all the evidence necessary to convict them.
One can also marvel at the move by the Hazyview Chamber of Business and Tourism when it embarked on a campaign to issue warning cards to tourists, to be wary of police and traffic officers who solicit bribes.
As can be deduced from the above, security-related personnel, not all of them though, are prone to participate in fraud and other corruption scandals because they are law enforcers who cannot be punished by the same set of legislation which they are enforcing.
On the positive side though, we continue receive positive reports and apprehension by some officers of the law who continue to ensure communities live in peace and harmony.
A worrying factor at the moment is the so-called sleeping water that burglars are using to make occupants sleep while they ransack their homes. It is absurd and discouraging that burglars would rejoice at that.
Methinks the police need to work closely with traditional healers who may cast a spell to weaken the power of these evil deeds, and save communities thousands of rand in property, and most importantly, for them to sleep peacefully.
Let us all unite to fight against crime and to eradicate it from our communities and enjoy a crime-free environment.
