Together, we can do it. Together, we can win this war!

It’s April 12 today and was supposed to be five days before the end of the National Lockdown, but lockdown, it’s been extended by another two weeks.

The good thing about the lockdown is that the norm on social distancing and staying at home are good phenomenas that have contributed to the reduction in drastic widespread infections in our communities.

The sanitizing activism at shopping malls and everywhere you go, have also contributed to the enormous conscientious effort by all stakeholders to flatten the curve of the coronavirus in our vicinity.

The growing unity within family spheres because it demands that families should stick together at all times – this is sure a good time to go back to the drawing board if you’d fallen foul of each other; at the same time, it’s so far an opportunity to mend this and emerge from it as a unified family unit.

Smokers and consumers of alcohol and smokers, in general, have gained what one can term: enemy number one in Police Minister Bheki Cele for completely banning liquor sales and consumption, sales of cigarettes. But as we reach the end of the lockdown at the end of April, they will never regret because with the outcome: they will bare healthy and beautiful faces and their entire bodies.

The hindsight of the lockdown is the dwindling economy in the country and the entire world. We will experience a serious loss of jobs through retrenchments and companies forced to close down.

The world is really at a standstill and it’s unbelievable that this is unfolding before us and for it to get back to normalcy, it only needs compliance from all and sundry.

As long as we leave the comfort of our homes aimlessly and staying indoors, we will not see an end to further infections.
As long as our homes and surroundings are not fumigated; we do not wash our hands clean regularly and sanitize them always, we will not see an end to further infections.

As long as we don’t adhere to all the rules and regulations of lockdown, we will not see an end to further extensions of the national lockdown.
Let’s unite and jointly help to flatten the scourge of the coronavirus.

Together, we can do it. Together, we can win this war!
