Editor’s views on issues affecting the public

The dark cloud that befell this country and ther world as whole, is over now.

The dark cloud that befell this country and ther world as whole, is over now. It is time to pick up our spears and go to conquer at that we’d envisaged to achieve in life.

Dr Nelson Mandela has done his bit to each and everyone of us who cared to love or follow him. Whatever you grasped, hold on to it and also nurture it and shape your lives for the better. Although it is a bitter pill to swallow that he is no more in this world, he left us with vauable knowledge and wisdom which we should continue to uphold to his visions for survival.

His death brought friends and enemies on one platform. I don’t know why the Republicans back in the US are complaining why their president, Barack Obama shook hands with Cuban former president, Fidel Castro. what was he supposed to do, avoid him and greet the others? That’s not in the spirit of Mandela, whether he liked it or not, Mandela brought them together to forget about their differences.

On the very same note, our own South Africans took advantage of the situation and vented their anger on President Jacob zuma when they booed him at the memorial service at the FNB Stadium amidst all the world leaders – pretence was no the way to go because the people have had enough of him with all the allegations that have been levelled against him.

Also of much importance is that political parties all got an opportunity to use Mandela’s death to campaign for next year’s general elections as Mandela saw that he needed to bring about unity among all forces, and they equitable shared the glory and platforms.

surely if you want to be counted among the best of persons, take a leaf from Madiba’s life and we will honour you in all respects.

May I take this opportunity to wishing you, all our readers, and Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year until we met next year with our first edition of the year on the streets on January 9, 2014.
