An affair of the soul

The former Joyous Celebration member says this is most definitely a show to attend, for Christians, and those who want to be closer to God.

Gospel music fanatics in the Lowveld are to be treated to yet another musical affair for the soul.

Tebello Sukwene, who happens to be a sweetheart in Mbombela, will present a live show at the Civic Centre on Sunday evening.

The former Joyous Celebration member says this is most definitely a show to attend, for Christians, and those who want to be closer to God.

“The show is themed He is Alive because our God is really alive. It will be a night of fellowship and good music,” said Sukwene.

This “Wenhliziyo Yami” hit maker is no stranger to Mbombela, as she vigorously serenaded the crowd during Mahalia Buchanan’s show, a couple of months ago.

“It was really humbling to see people singing and dancing along to the songs, Mbombela has become home for me, I don’t feel like a guest when I’m here.

The people are so warm and welcoming, who wouldn’t want to call such a place home?”

Her bag of experiences in music comes from working with great artists such as Past Benjamin Dube, Jabu Hlongwane, and Simphiwe Dana, to mention just a few.

“I have worked with different artists in the industry, and it has shaped me a great deal to be where I am today, I have also worked with internationally acclaimed songbird, Lira, and Mbombela will have their share of my show on Sunday, it is going to be very interesting.

The show will also be inclusive of other great artists from Mbombela. This place has massive talent, it’s only a good thing for one to work with the artists during such shows,” she added.

Tickets are available at Checkers and Computicket, and they go for R200 each. Doors open at 17:00.
