Watch out for Ensor-Smith in high school Junior Max

With Zwartkops done and dusted spectators at the April 29 to 30 karting event at Killarney can expect some explosive action," says Michele Lupini.

Rotax Max Karting Gauteng Regional Karting action resumes at Zwartkops Saturday 9 April following a short hiatus due to a late calendar reshuffle.

Locals will be keen to resume battle following that unusually lazy lull so early in the season.

Premier division DD2 is difficult to predict, but Smith siblings, Jamie and Brandon were the lads to beat on a full grid last time out.

Expect a Hellenic challenge from Nicolas Spanoyannis and Niko Zafiris, as well as Hamza Jassat, Divan Braak, Wayland Wyman and gearbox class rookie Kian Grottis.

Masters regulars, Eugene Brittz, Tinahe Ncube and Carlo Gil will have Bjorn Roos to contend with and Frikkie Cornelius, Philippe Chapat and Derrick Joseph should be the Veteran leaders.

Emma Dowling.

Karabo Malemela, Moosa Kajee, Ethan Bostander, Daniel Kruger, Kian Spies and Olerato Sekudu will fight it out in Senior Max, while KC Ensor-Smith seems to be the lad to beat in high school Junior Max.

Expect SA champions Troy Snyman and Muhammad Wally, Nicolas Vostanis, Jayden Goosen, Erich Heystek and Wian Boshoff to be among those out to beat him.

Moving on to the primary school action, expect Caleb Odendaal to tussle with Amani Kinyua, ahead of Spice Mailula, Georgia Lenaerts, Aadam Kajee and Kegan Martin in under-13 Mini Max.

Taylin Patel will have Emma Dowling, Rafael Da Silva, Matthew Shuttleworth, Santiago Frade and Logan Billau to deal with in under-11 Micro Max. And Brodi Dowling will take on Noah Cronje, Diego Antunes, Cronje, Ronaldo Koen, Bophelo Molatlhegi and Jenson Dias on another full baby Bambino grid.

After Saturday’s Zwartkops Gauteng action, there will be a fortnight’s Easter break before the next round of the KZN championship at iDube.

Then all Rotax Max attention focuses on the first National at Killarney from April 29 to 30. Judging by both the regional action so far this season, that action can be expected to be explosive…
