Have you received your UIF payout? First, check if your employer has received the Covid-19 UIF funding
Some employees are unsure if the UIF money was released to their employers.

Covid-19 has hit the economy hard, leaving millions of working South Africans facing a financial crisis due to salary cuts. Furthermore, with the unemployment insurance fund (UIF) paid directly to companies and not to individuals, some employees were left in the dark.
According to the employment and labour department, R9.5-billion has been paid through the UIF, Covid-19 temporary employer/employee relief scheme (TERS) benefitting nearly two million workers.
On Monday, employment and labour minister Thulas Nxesi called on employers to ensure the funds are paid to workers. This after the department received several complaints from employees claiming they had not received their UIF.
For employees to check if their employers have received funding the department provided a list at https://uifecc.labour.gov.za/covid19/paidEntitiesList.
The list shows companies that have received UIF payouts so far.
The fund was set to provide temporary relief for workers financially distressed due to the lockdown that resulted in salary cuts or no salary.
However, the department has also highlighted a total of 619 365 workers are still to be paid, that will amount to more than R2.6-billion.
Nxesi said this delay was due to administrative issues as some applications were submitted with incorrect information.
“We still appeal to employers to make the necessary applications and provide the fund with more information where there were queries then pay the workers the money due to them”, Nxesi added.
