Police investigate Pongola farm murder

The deceased was found in his kitchen, with his arms and legs bound

Pongola SAPS are investigating a case of murder after Jacobus (Kosie) Botha (63) was  found dead yesterday morning (Tuesday) at home on his farm.

According to police, Botha was found in his kitchen with his feet bound with brown tape and his arms bound with a cell phone charger cord.

Police say there was no obvious cause of death.

Farm employees found Botha’s body at about 7.30am and reported the murder to SAPS.

Botha’s vehicle was stolen but was later recovered along the N2 near Mkhuze with the keys still in the ignition.

This follows a farm murder in Balgowan, in the KZN Midlands, just 10 days ago in which Edi Neumeister was hacked to death with a panga.
