A statement read on behalf of the accused gives his version of events.

The third accused in the murders of Glen and Vida Rafferty, Sizwe ‘Tell’ Zwane has pleaded guilty to all charges.

Zwane appeared before the Pietermaritzburg High Court yesterday (March 3), on one count of robbery with aggravating circumstances and two counts of murder.

His legal counsel, Lauren Marais read out a statement on Zwane’s behalf in which he gave his version of events on August 29, 2020 and the months which followed, up until his arrest in February this year.

After an adjournment, during which Judge Nkosinathi Chili considered the statement and the coroner’s reports, Zwane was found guilty on all charges.

Sentencing is currently underway – updates will be provided once proceedings conclude.
