Mystery surrounds death of Centurion mother of four

A veil of mystery continued over the discovery of the body of a 37-year-old woman who was found dead in a residence in Heuweloord, Centurion, on Tuesday morning.

Wierdabrug police spokesperson Sergeant Divine Nkuna said she can confirm that a woman was found dead on a bed.

“An inquest docket was opened and the matter is being investigated.”

Nkuna earlier stated that a manhunt was launched. “The manhunt was pulled away now because we await the autopsy to determine whether or not it was murder.”

Medics from two emergency services also responded to the call.

Netcare 911’s Shawn Herbst confirmed paramedics were on the scene where the woman’s body was found.

“A woman was declared dead on the scene, however, we cannot elaborate under what circumstances.”

Spokesperson for Monitor Net JP le Roux said they responded to the call at around 10.45am.

Local ward councillor Kingsley Wakelin said he was aware of the incident where the mother “of four very young children passed away. I think the youngest child is two and the eldest, five”.

Wakelin said he was approached by a resident who requested him to assist the children.

“I can confirm that social services were on the scene and that the children received trauma counselling. They are now in the care of their grandmother.”

Wakelin said since the matter was being investigated he could not disclose more details about the incident.
