Eskom announces planned load-shedding until Wednesday
The power utility provides an outlook of what stages will be implemented on which days.

Eskom has laid out the planned stages of load-shedding that will be implemented until Wednesday.
The power utility says stage 4 power cuts will continue until 16:00 tomorrow when it will be heightened to stage 5 until 05:00 on Tuesday.
Then stage 3 load-shedding will be implemented and continue until 16:00.
Stage 4 power cuts return for the peak period between 16:00 on Tuesday and 05:00 on Wednesday.
Load-shedding will then again be reduced to stage 3 between 05:00 and 16:00, whereafter stage 4 will return.
The power utility says that a generating unit each was in the past 24 hours returned to service at the Arnot, Grootvlei, Kendal, Medupi and Tutuka power stations.
“Breakdowns of a unit each at [the] Camden, Majuba and Matimba power stations caused units to be taken offline for repairs. The delay in returning a unit each to service at Arnot, Hendrina, Kendal, Medupi and Tutuka power stations are contributing to the current capacity constraints,” Eskom explains.
The power supplier adds that imports from the Cahora Bassa Hydro Scheme in Mozambique had to be halved to 600MW as there is a tower failure on one of the lines from the country.
