Two N4 speedsters arrested for driving 191km/h and 168km/h

Two men were recently arrested for speeding along the N4 in Mpumalanga in two separate incidents.

Two men were arrested for speeding along the N4 in two separate incidents yesterday.

The Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison’s (DCSSL) traffic intervention unit arrested the first driver (33) in the Schoemanskloof for driving 168km/h in a 100km/h zone. He had been driving a VW Polo.

The DCSSL’s spokesperson, Moeti Mmusi, said the man was taken to the Ngodwana Police Station where he was released on R1 000 bail.

Mmusi said the second man (36) had been travelling in his Mercedes-Benz sedan at 191km/h in a 120km/h zone near Alkmaar. He is currently in custody at the Nelspruit Police Station.

Mmusi said both motorists will appear in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court today.
