Load-shedding to be reduced over the weekend

South Africans can breathe a sigh of relief as load-shedding will be reduced somewhat over the coming weekend.

Eskom has announced that stage 2 load-shedding will remain until 05:00 tomorrow, whereafter stage 1 will be implemented.

Stage 1 will last until 16:00 tomorrow. Stage 2 will then be implemented again until 05:00 on Sunday.

Load-shedding will then be suspended until 16:00 on Sunday, after which stage 1 will be implemented.

According to a media statement by Eskom, three generating units were returned to service over the last 24 hours at the Hendrina, Tutuka and Majuba power stations.

Generating units at several power stations have, however, been taken offline for repairs.
