Alleged bogus Mpumalanga attorney and murder accused to remain behind bars
Two men appeared in the Bethal Magistrate's Court yesterday to hear the outcome of their bail applications.

A Mpumalanga man who pretended to the legal representative of Mhlabuyaxega Mntungwa (37), who is accused of the murder of a former manager of Sam Holdings, will remain in police custody.
Doctor Sobetha (31) and Mntungwa (37) will remain behind bars following their appearance in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Sobetha faces charges of impersonating an attorney representing Mntungwa, who is accused of the murder of Nkosinathi Emmanuel Ngcongo.
Ngcongo was shot dead, allegedly by Mntungwa and his co-accused Phindokuhle Eugene Nkosi (30) in a drive-by shooting in September 2019.
Nkosi, was traced and arrested by the Bethal SAPS. After a series of court appearances, he was found guilty of the murder and sentenced in Bethal in October 2020 to 25 years’ imprisonment.
The Mpumalanga Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation spokesperson, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi, says Mntungwa and Sobetha’s cases were both postponed to May 2 and 3 respectively, for further bail hearing.
Sekgotodi calls upon those who had previously been represented by Sobetha, to come forwards by calling her on 071 481 3493.
