Soweto boys killed: Grandmother, partner charged
The bodies of the two children were found mutilated last Thursday, one in White City and the other a short distance away in Rockville.
The discovery of the mutilated bodies of two boys, aged five and six, who went missing on April 19 shook the Soweto community. To make matters worse, one of the victims’ grandmother and her partner was charged for their murders yesterday.
The Citizen reports Nqobile Ndlovu, the 50-year-old grandmother of one of the children killed in Soweto, and her 39-year-old partner, Mthunzi Mzwakhe Zulu appeared in the Protea Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Magistrate Tshepiso Maepa said the matter was postponed in order to allow accused number one to have her attorney present in court.
The pair told the court that they would apply for bail, while the state indicated its intention to oppose the bail application.
The duo will remain in custody until their next appearance.
