Prominent businessman abducted in Burgersfort

Businessman Solly Tayob was abducted outside his dealership in Limpopo. Vehicles were stolen, but the police have since recovered them.

Family members of Solly Tayob, fondly known as uncle Solly, confirmed that he had been abducted by a large group of suspects yesterday evening.

It took place outside Tayob’s Hyundai Burgersfort dealership at around 19:45.

According to the local police, two vehicles were stolen during the incident. They recovered them later that evening. They didn’t reveal the location regarding where they had been discovered.

The Tayobs declined to provide Steelburger/Lydenburg News with any more information after they had confirmed the abduction.

The well-respected family owns several vehicle dealerships in Burgersfort and Lydenburg.

Sergeant Victoria Maluleka of the Burgersfort SAPS said the Limpopo police will continue to investigate this high-profile case.

The Limpopo SAPS hasn’t confirmed the number of suspects.
