Dead body found in Pietermaritzburg

The man’s lifeless body was found by a cattle herdsman.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder of a man whose body was found lying face down, with two gunshot wounds to the head, on a gravel road in Taylors Halt.

The body was found last week.

It is believed that the man was killed and then dragged a few metres.

Speaking to The Witness, local induna Khulekani Hadebe said a herdsman was taking cattle to the grazing land nearby.

“On the gravel road, he noticed blood. He followed the blood stains, which led him to the man’s sandals and then he found the dead body.”
