Raid and arrests at multimillion rand De Deur drug lab

Law enforcement officers seized drug lab equipment and materials worth an estimated R2.3m.

Four suspects who were arrested during a drug bust in De Deur, Gauteng, are due to appear in court soon to face charges relating to drug possession, dealing, and manufacturing.

This after police successfully dismantled a drug lab and apprehended the suspects in an intelligence-driven operation on Tuesday.

The Sedibeng Flying Squad and K9 Unit, acting on information received about a suspicious property in De Deur, operationalised the information and went to the property.

Upon searching the premises, a drug lab, with equipment and materials valued at approximately R2.3m, was discovered.

The police seized all the drug manufacturing equipment and mandrax drugs and arrested the suspects, aged between 37 and 56, including the property owner.

All suspects will appear in court soon to face charges related to drug possession, dealing, and manufacturing.
