KZN construction site shoot-out: 4 suspected extortionists arrested

Security guards and four men were involved in a shoot-out at a site where a road is being build in Durban.

Four suspected extortionists are currently under police guard at a hospital following their arrest yesterday afternoon in connection with a case of extortion at a construction site in Sydenham, Durban.

The suspects, aged between 38 and 48, were injured during a shoot-out with security guards at the site.

KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda says information at this stage suggests that five men went to a construction site on O’Flaherty Road in Sydenham where there is a construction of a road.
