George businessman’s murderer to be sentenced
The killer of a man who was shot while on his way to deposit money is due to appear in court later this week.
A man who was on parole when he shot and killed a businessman in January will be sentenced on Friday.
On September 13, Luvuyuo Dondashe (45), originally from the Eastern Cape, was found guilty by the Circuit High Court in George of the 2021 murder of 51-year-old businessman Theodore Roman (Boeta).
He will be sentenced on Friday.
After Dondashe shot Roman at Boeta’s Corner in Nelson Mandela Boulevard on January 22, he fled on foot with only a box of drinking glasses, which he might have mistaken for a box of money as Roman did not use bank bags but rather hid his business’s money in boxes.
Roman and his shop assistant were on their way to deposit money when he was shot by Dondashe, who was on parole at the time.
He was sentenced in 2005 after being found guilty on a charge of robbery in Dispatch.
