Video: 5 suspects to appear in Ermelo court for police officer’s murder

A vehicle suspected to have been involved in the commission of a crime was discovered burnt in Ermelo today.

The five suspects who were arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Lieutenant Colonel Piet Pretorius are expected to appear in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court soon, according to the police.

According to an article published by Highvelder, Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, provincial police spokesperson, says the suspects are aged between 29 and 40.

A multi-disciplinary team established by the acting provincial commissioner, Major General Dr Zeph Mkhwanazi, consisting of HAWKS, detectives, intelligence members and a security company tracked and traced the suspects in Nelspruit, where they were arrested.

A vehicle believed to have been used in the commission of crime was found torched next to Ext 7 in Ermelo today.
