Witbank police arrest man after fatal Duvha Park stabbing

A knife hidden under a bed led officers to a hotel room following the discovery of a woman's body in her home.

A man suspected of fatally stabbing a woman in Duvha Park was arrested yesterday, (October 31), reports Witbank News.

Members of Witbank SAPS arrested the suspect at a hotel approximately 4km from the house where a woman was fatally stabbed yesterday.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer David Ratau said a knife covered in blood, suspected to be the murder weapon, was found hidden under a bed.

Clothes covered in blood and suspected to belong to the suspect were also found at the deceased’s house.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Witbank Magistrate’s Court on Monday, November2, facing a charge of murder.

Discovery at home

The arrest comes a day after the victim was found stabbed to death inside her house.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending formal identification and notification of next of kin.

She was discovered by her employer, Storm Webber, who grew concerned when the domestic worker failed to report for work.

“When I found her, I could not feel a pulse. She was stabbed several times,” a heartbroken Webber said.
