Armed robbery at Pizza outlet in Glenvista

Six men parked their silver BMWs at the entrance to the shopping centre and walked over to Pizza Perfect, where they held up the manager on Sunday at about 8.30pm, Comaro Chronicle reported. 

Mondeor police communication officer Constable Elizabeth Mnguni said no shots were fired, but the manager sustained injuries after he was hit over the head and in the mouth with a firearm. Paramedics were called to the scene.

An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen, Mnguni said. No arrests have been made.

In a separate incident, police were searching for three suspects after an armed robbery of a customer at Park View Shopping Centre, near Woodlands, in Pretoria in January.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Dave Miller, three armed robbers entered a pizza outlet at Park View Shopping Centre.

“A customer at the Romans Pizza was robbed of his cellphone and watch,” he said.

One of the robbers apparently entered the pizza outlet and demanded a cellphone from the customer.

The customer refused, and a struggle ensued.

Miller said a shot was fired and added no one was injured.
