Woman flung from car in M7 truck crash
A woman has died after she was flung from the car she was driving when it hit a truck on the M7 eastbound just before the Bellville Road bridge in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said it is believed the woman was travelling towards Pinetown when her car veered into the Durban-bound lane and landed in front of a petrol tanker,Highway Mail reported.
Botha added paramedics arrived at the scene and found that after the car had collided with the truck, both vehicles went through a barrier and up an embankment, with the wreckages coming to rest about a metre from a 30-metre drop into private property.
“The driver of the vehicle was ejected from the wreckage and was found in the bush several metres away. She died on impact due to the extensive injuries that she sustained,” said Botha.
In a separate incident, video footage filmed in Cape Town shows a driver of a BMW convertible flying out of the car during a crash on the N2 highway in December last year.

The footage, uploaded on to YouTube by Alex Williamson, shows the BMW appearing from the extreme left lane, clipping the front of a silver Kia Picanto as it makes its way across the highway, close to the Langa off-ramp.
The BMW then slams into the concrete barrier in the middle of the highway, sending what looks to be the driver into the air.
