Tshwane metro refutes alleged child hospitalisations after food consumption

The Tshwane metro refuted allegations that two children were hospitalised after consuming meals it allegedly delivered in the north of Pretoria.
“There’s no truth to the allegations,” Tshwane head administrator’s spokesperson Omogolo Taunyane-Mnguni said.
This after a member of the Inwoners Baagi Civic Movement claimed two children were hospitalised at a hospital in Klipgat after they consumed meals delivered by a van belonging to the metro.
“Two children were hospitalised at Odi Community hospital due to meals delivered by a Tshwane metro bakkie,” the movement’s secretary general Jomo Rapholo said.
The meals in question were allegedly served by CPF members at the Mabopane indoor sports centre at the weekend.
Rapholo also questioned why meals, which were prepared in Johannesburg, were transported to the metro.
Taunyane-Mnguni, however, refuted the allegations saying “there are no children being accommodated at the Mabopane indoor sports centre”.
She further explained that meals at the centre were not served by CPF members, but by the metro’s personnel.
“There’s staff on-site,” Taunyane-Mnguni said.
