When it comes to yummy dishes, kids love cake in a cup!

If you're looking for something fun to do with the kids, try making this chocolate mug cake using a few key ingredients.

This chocolate mug cake recipe is super easy to make and a delicious treat to enjoy with a cup of hot tea! Your kids will love it! Best of all, you can opt to cut down on the amount of sugar, for a slightly healthier option.

Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp (75ml) Sasko Self-Raising Flour
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) castor sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp (45ml) milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tbsp (45ml) sunflower or canola oil

Method

Stir together, using a spatula, to mix well. Pour the batter into the mug and microwave for 1 minute on high. Microwave for a further minute on high. Tip out onto a plate or eat straight from the mug. Eat with a dollop of vanilla ice cream or a squirt of canned cream for a really indulgent dessert, or substitute the milk with strong coffee for a delicious mocha flavour.

Good to know: Every microwave is a bit different; you may need to experiment a bit with yours to get the perfect result. If your cake is still runny after two minutes, give it another 30-second blast and test again.
