Mi Casa to headline Ekurhuleni Comes Alive on December 8

SAMA award winner Mi Casa is set to be the headline act at the monthly Ekurhuleni Comes Alive jazz evening at the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre on December 8.

Mi Casa will be joined by Idols 2015 finalist Mmatema Moremi and upcoming hip-hop artist Tumi Tladi.

Ekurhuleni Comes Alive, in partnership with the City of Ekurhuleni, the Sowetan, the Mail & Guardian, SAfm, The Star and Rust en Vrede Wine Estate, present a fresh line-up of local entertainment every month.

“Fittingly for the first all-inclusive evening and needing little introduction is headline act Mi Casa, known for their deep, soulful house with elements of urban jazz. They have won numerous awards for their first three albums and recently released their fourth album, Familia, a tribute to South Africa’s diverse Mi Casa family.

“Supporting Mi Casa is gospel songstress and Idols season 10 runner-up Moremi, who became the first Idols contestant in history to host a one-woman show at the South African State Theatre’s 1 300 theatre. She has also performed with the likes of Benjamin Dube, Joyous Celebration and Carli Rae Jepson,” said the event’s publicist, Tegan Mitchell.

“No stranger to the music industry, Tladi is the son of Peter Tladi, founder of the Joy of Jazz Festival. Having established a background in choreography and dance, Tladi is known for his energetic performances on stage and together with the calibre of performances expected from Mi Casa and Moremi, the evening promises to be one for the history books at Birchwood.”

Resident MC Hector Motivator, along with comedians Elton Mduduzi and Smowkey Nyembe, will be providing laughter throughout the evening.
