Indulge the senses at the Magic of the Vine Festival

Simple sippers and wine connoisseurs are invited to indulge in a sensory experience and enjoy the best wines the Cape Winelands has to offer at the Magic of the Vine Festival next weekend.
The weekend kicks off with a lavish food and wine pairing evening at Hemingways Restaurant on Friday, 8 November, followed by a second spectacular food and wine pairing evening on Saturday, 9 November. Guests can look forward to being treated to a mouth-watering four-course meal paired with exquisite wines.
Classical singer Helena Hettema will entertain guests both evenings with a variety of genres, including her rendition of the songs of the national French diva, Edith Piaf.
The wine and food pairing evenings promise to delight the senses – delectable food, exquisite wines and great music makes for an unforgettable evening. Tickets for the wine and food pairing evenings are priced at R400 per person, and include the wines and a four-course meal. The Magic of the Vine Festival, in proud association with Silver Crest Event Management, Rekord’s sister publication Get It, and Groot FM, takes place on Saturday, 9 November and Sunday, 10 November at the Leriba Hotel & Spa in Centurion and promises a few hours of palate-pleasing excitement and scenic views.
Twenty-five wine sellers and two craft beer breweries from across the country will be showcased and paired with scrumptious food to demonstrate the depth and breadth of South Africa’s contribution to the world of wines.
Tickets for the festival are available through Computicket at R90 per person; tasting glasses can be purchased on the day of the festival at R20 per glass. Park and ride facilities will be available from Hoërskool Zwartkop and the Gautrain station, with shuttles running every 30 minutes.
