GALLERY: PvR town festival a massive success

With over 100 unique stalls the Pierre van Ryneveld dorpsfees catered for everyone.

The annual Pierre van Ryneveld town festival in Centurion once again attracted young and old last week.

Around 5 000 people supported the event, which started on Thursday, with the main festival taking place on Saturday.

Residents were treated to a wide array of activities, including a beauty/personality pageant, a talent competition involving local schools, and a gala evening to thank all the sponsors.

A laser challenge saw residents team up and battle it out on the obstacle course, which ended with a tree planting challenge.

Toyota offered an “urban trax” off-road exhibition activity, and there were about 100 unique stalls for residents to explore and enjoy.

The young ones had fun with a double bill of “Lollos en Lettie” and a mega jumping castle.

The local scout troop hosted adventure activities and the teenagers had a laser war challenge and a “battle of the DJs” on Saturday evening.

In foodieville, there was a “Masterchef experience” with “Kokkedoor” and a man cave for the men to relax over a cold beer and some biltong.

The festival successfully brought residents together for an authentic suburb festival.
