Malva pudding is a classic South African dessert, known for its sweet, sticky sponge soaked in a warm, buttery syrup. Now, imagine all that flavour turned into a creamy, refreshing ice-cream! Ingredients
For the ice-cream:
- 500ml whipping cream
- 2/ 3 cups condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
For the toppings:
- Crumbled malva pudding sponge
- Apricot jam
For the sauce:
- 2 Tetley Premium Blend Black Tea Bags
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 /4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
Method
- In a bowl, mix the whipping cream for 2-3mins until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in the condensed milk and vanilla essence.
- Stir in your Malva pudding sponge.
- Pour into a freezer safe container and drizzle with apricot jam.
- Freeze for 3-5 hours.
- In a saucepan, brew your tea for 2 minutes, and stir in the butter and brown sugar.
- Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, reducing to a sauce.
- Serve the ice cream with a drizzle of tea sauce and enjoy!
