Watch: BMW M4 and Golf R collide during Brakpan drag race
A BMW M4 stunt lead to a collision with a Golf R at Rock Raceway, raising concerns over drag race safety.
A recent drag race event at Rock Raceway in Brakpan descended into chaos when a BMW M4 stunt led to a serious collision with a Volkswagen Golf R. Despite the severity of the crash, no major injuries were reported, though both vehicles were severely damaged.
The incident occurred as the M240i and Golf R lined up for their race. Before the official start, the M4 driver began a drift demonstration in the adjacent arena, cutting across the track and into the path of the accelerating vehicles. The Golf R, unable to see past the M240i ahead, collided head-on with the M4.
While the M240i driver managed to avoid the collision entirely, the M4 and Golf R were left severely damaged and had to be removed by forklift.
