Stuck for something fun and cost-saving to do with your teen over the weekend? Paper mache is not only a fun craft for kids – it’s a fabulous and cheap way to make gorgeous home décor.
In the following tutorial, DIY YouTube vlogger, Jakob Morris, shows us how to make a beautiful aloe candleholder with paper mache.
What you need:
- Thick and thinner cardboard (you can use boxes and cereal boxes)
- Scissors
- Glue gun
- Masking tape
- Newspaper
- Tissue paper in white
- Puff paint
- Heat resistant spray paint in white
Top tip: In this video, a pillar candle was used in the centre of the paper mache aloe candleholder. For safety purposes, replace the pillar candle with a led tealight battery-operated candle instead.
