Cinema Goggles – movies opening this Friday

Looks like we are in for a lot of stupidity this week, with Dumb and Dumber To opening in cinemas, but if you are looking for something different, there is a film for everyone to enjoy.

Dumb and Dumber To

Twenty years after the dimwits set off on their first adventure, they head out in search of one of their long lost children, in the hope of gaining a new kidney.

Tarzan

Genre: Action, Adventure, Animation

Starring: Jaime Ray Newman, Kellan Lutz, Spencer Locke

Tarzan and Jane Porter face a mercenary army dispatched by the evil CEO of Greystoke Energies, a man who took over the company from Tarzan’s parents, after they died in a plane crash.

The Drop

Genre: Crime, Drama

Starring: Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, James Gandolfini

Bob Saginowski finds himself at the centre of a robbery gone awry and entwined in an investigation that digs deep into the neighbourhood’s past, where friends, families and foes all work together to make a living – no matter the cost.

Kite

Genre: Action

Starring: Callan McAuliffe, Carl Beukes, Deon Lotz, India Eisley, Samuel L Jackson

Sawa is beautiful but emotionally detached and lives a secret life as a covert assassin. She was the daughter of a police detective involved in the investigation of human-trafficking, but her parents were killed.

She is a human time-bomb intent upon eliminating members of the flesh-cartels whom, she presumes, murdered her family. The film was shot entirely on location in Johannesburg.

A woman stuck in permanent adolescence lies to her fiancé about going on a retreat and spends the time hanging out with friends instead.
