Enjoy Japanese-style food at home with this Salmon Teriyaki recipe. Tender salmon fillets are glazed with a rich, sticky teriyaki sauce made from soy, honey, garlic, and ginger, then pan-seared until golden and caramelised. Serve with light vegetable ribbons and a mound of fragrant jasmine rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 small carrot and 1 courgette, shaved into ribbons
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1 cup cooked jasmine rice

Method

1. Mix soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger in a small bowl.

2. Heat oil in a frying pan. Place the salmon skin-side down and cook for 3–4 minutes. Flip, add the sauce, and cook for another 2–3 minutes until sticky and glazed.

3. Quickly sauté spinach and vegetable ribbons in the same pan for a minute.

4. Serve the salmon over the vegetables with jasmine rice, drizzle with the remaining sauce, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
