10 years for 3 Lesotho men guilty of 2021 murder

Three Basotho nationals will spend a decade in jail for murder and attempted murder they committed three years ago.

The Kagiso Regional Court recently sentenced three Basotho men to 10 years of direct imprisonment each for murder and attempted murder. The crime happened three years ago.

According to West Rand District Police spokesperson Captain Solomon Sibiya, the three men (aged between 30 and 40) shot and killed a man while injuring a woman as they walked in the street in Rietvallei Ext 2 on October 7, 2021.

“The accused were on the run until November 7, 2021. Kagiso police then launched a manhunt and all three men were cornered and apprehended following information from some reliable sources from the community. They were never granted bail.”

The case was investigated by Kagiso police detective Sergeant Maleba.

“Maleba’s efforts and dedication paid off when all three men were found guilty and convicted.”
