2 doctors die in KZN accident

After paramedics attempted to resuscitate the injured, four people were pronounced dead on the scene.

Four people, including two local doctors, died after the driver lost control of a vehicle travelling on Asiphehe (Madadeni) Road in Newcastle in the early hours of this morning (December 22).

According to official sources, there were seven people in the vehicle when the accident occurred.

Paramedics responded swiftly scene and attempted to resuscitate the injured. Tragically four were pronounced dead on the scene, while another three were rushed to hospital for further medical care.

The exact cause of the accident is not yet known and will remain subjective to further police investigations.

Charles Steyn of Magenta Medical Services urged motorists to drive with caution and consider road and weather conditions when travelling.

“Drive below the required speed limit at this time of the year, and do not drink or drive. Please keep yourself and others alive,” he concluded.
