2 injured in light aircraft crash in Durban North

The cause of a light aircraft crash in KZN will be investigated by authorities.

Two people are receiving medical care after a light aircraft crashed near Virginia Airport in Durban North this morning.

According to an article published by The Witness, Garrith Jamieson, the director of ALS Paramedics, says paramedics responded to the incident at around 09:00.

“ALS Paramedics responded to reports of a plane crash near Beachwood just before the Virginia Airport.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the eThekweni Fire Department in attendance and were shown to where a light aircraft was found in the trees. The paramedics were informed that two occupants were in the plane at the time of the crash,” he says.

Jamieson adds that the two people were transported for medical care before the paramedics arrived.

“The scene was cordoned off by SAPS for the necessary authorities to investigate the cause of the incident.”
