3 injured in light aircraft crash near Wonderboom Airport

The cause of an aircraft crash in which three people sustained light to moderate injures will be investigated.

Three men were injured when their light aircraft crashed near the Wonderboom Airport this morning.

According to Best Care Ambulance Services spokesperson Xander Loubser, the accident was reported at around 10:30.

The three men were en route from Bloemfontein to Pretoria when the accident happened.

“The men, aged between 24 and 25, sustained light to moderate injuries.”

At the time of publishing, emergency services were still on the scene.

The cause of the accident will be investigated.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, two people were killed in an aircraft accident on a farm in the Cullinan policing precinct.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan Van Dyk, the police responded swiftly to the scene, where they discovered the aircraft engulfed in flames.

He says the aircraft was conducting a training exercise with a flight instructor and a learner pilot on board.
