One person has been shot and killed during an armed robbery at the Helen’s Fish and Chips shop in Voortrekker Road, Alberton, on the East Rand, on Monday.

It is alleged three suspects robbed shop at around 6.30am before firing several shots. The owner was hit and subsequently died, the Alberton Record reports.

CROWD GATHERING: Many curious bystanders look on at the scene.

The Fox Security medical unit, CPS Security, the SAPS and National Paramedic Services responded to the scene.

No arrests have been made.
