Alldays farm attackers arrested in massive team effort

Police, the SANDF and local farmers managed to trace the suspects and retrieve stolen goods. 

Five alleged farm attackers, who shot and seriously injured a 71-year-old woman, her son (47) and a farmworker, have been captured after a farm attack on Thursday.

According to the Limpopo police, five armed men entered he Schietfontein farm house on Thursday morning and demanded money and firearms.

After injuring three people, the suspects fled with money, firearms and ammunition.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo says “The swift reaction by members of the Beitbridge Musina Task Team, the Musina Flying Squad, the SANDF, local farmers and Alldays SAPS led to the activation of a massive search operation.”

The team tracked down the suspects who were hiding within the farming precinct and they were arrested.

“The police recovered the stolen items during the arrest,” he says.

The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended the dedicated teams from the SAPS, SANDF and farmers in the Alldays area who tracked down the suspects.

The five suspects between the ages of 26 and 34 are expected to appear before the Senwabarwana Magistrate’s Court on Monday (September 26) and will face charges of attempted murder and armed robbery.
