Alleged KZN murderer ‘threatened to drink his own cousin’s blood’

The aunt of a man suspected of killing a seven-year-old boy in Ezinketheni claims she reported his violent behaviour while he was on parole.

The parolee suspected of killing a seven-year-old boy in Ezinketheni, near Copesville, recently threatened to kill his cousin and drink her blood, his aunt told The Witness in an exclusive interview.

The Department of Correctional Services has come under fire for not revoking Sfiso Mbhele’s parole after receiving complaints about his abusive and violent behaviour.

Hlekisile Mnguni, the aunt of Mbhele (44) — who was stoned to death by community members in an act of vigilantism on Sunday night, after the murder of Lenathi Sfundo Mkhize — said Mbhele had been out on parole and that she had reported his violent behaviour to his parole officer whenever he arrived at stipulated times to sign the parole form.
