ANC mourns ‘dedicated activist’ Charles Masemola

The Greater Tshwane ANC is mourning the death of Charles Masemola who passed away in the early hours of Friday, at the Arcadia Heart hospital following a short illness.

Masemola served as a regional deputy secretary and had previously served the ANCYL as a regional secretary.

“His sudden departure comes at a time when the Tshwane metro is battling with the ever-increasing rate of Covid-19 infections, and while we were striving for stability and effective governance that requires the experience and expertise of astute thinkers like comrade Masemola who always availed himself to resolving the challenges faced by the people of Tshwane,” said ANC regional secretary Eugene Modise.

Modise said Masemola would be remembered as a committed and dedicated activist “who at all times demonstrated a sense of passion and professionalism in his work”.

Modise said Masemola’s virtual memorial service would be held on Tuesday.

“He will be laid to rest on Wednesday, at 310 block P, Soshanguve.”

“The ANC in the region continues to call for full compliance and observance of the Covid-19 regulations and will ensure all protocols are followed throughout the mourning and burial processes of our regional deputy secretary.

“The ANC REC in Tshwane wishes to extend heartfelt condolences to the Masemola family, friends, comrades and all residents in Tshwane who lived with, and loved this gentle soul. Forever in our hearts,” Modise said.
